Author Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted to Mutamayyiz: Journal of Islamic Studies must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in other journals. The journal accepts research articles, review papers, and conceptual studies in the field of Islamic Studies, written in either English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism, with a maximum similarity index of 20%. Each manuscript should be structured systematically, consisting of a clear and concise title (maximum 15 words), author(s) name without academic titles, institutional affiliation, and email address, followed by an abstract of 150–250 words in English that includes the purpose, method, and main findings of the study, along with 3–5 relevant keywords. The main body of the manuscript should include the introduction, method, results and discussion, and conclusion, followed by a list of references.
Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), with Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, on A4 paper size, and margins of 2.5 cm on all sides. The length of the manuscript should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words. Citations and references must follow the APA Style (7th Edition), and authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. Each manuscript should include a minimum of 15 references, with at least 70% derived from reputable and recent scholarly journals (preferably published within the last 5–10 years), and DOI numbers should be provided where available. Tables and figures must be clearly numbered and titled, with sources properly indicated, while Arabic terms should be consistently transliterated according to a recognized standard.
All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS), and authors are required to complete all metadata, including title, abstract, keywords, and author details. Every submission will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the publication. The editorial board reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions for submitted manuscripts, and the review process generally takes between 2 to 4 weeks. Authors must adhere to ethical standards in academic publishing, strictly avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification, and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish the article, which will be made available under an open access policy to support the dissemination of knowledge in Islamic Studies.
